GOING GREEN 1

Today, it’s all about being GREEN. And I don’t mean that in the perverted kind of thinking way, but in the conserving energy kind of way. So for today’s entry, here are some tips to GO GREEN and be the start of change.

WALK or BIKE to go around!

Let’s start with the basics… Walking or riding your bike to run your errands or visit someone is not only environmental friendly, it’s healthy as well! Burn a few calories while you save a couple of thousand pounds of CO2 (Carbon Dioxide). It’s just like hitting two birds with one stone.

SKIP THAT OVERLY PACKAGED ITEM!

Buying products that are minimally packaged reduces the amount of waste that we produce. So the next time you go to the grocery, you might want to purchase those “less dressed” items like buying grapes from the fresh fruit stand rather than buying them by a pack, sealed in a clear plastic wrap. Also, choose reusable products over disposable ones and don’t forget to recycle! =)

“GREEN” HOME IDEAS!

·         I know it might be overrated, but planting shady trees in your yard helps conserve a lot of energy since it directly absorbs about 25 pounds of CO2 from the air annually.

·         Turning off unneeded lights may be one of the most energy conserving things which many of us often disregard. Since lighting takes up 11% of a home’s energy bill, turning them off when not in use will not only have you saving the right way, you’re also extending the life of the light bulb.

·         Almost everyone is a PC or Laptop user nowadays, and most of us users fail or forget to turn them off since we always check mails, Facebook and Twitter accounts. But turning them off at the end of each day will again let us save energy and money, and our gadgets will even last longer.
